Is it legal to play Animal Crossing in your browser?
Short version: the site is a fan-made port, and you bring your own copy of the game.
What the site is
Animal Crossing Online is a community port of the GameCube game's code, compiled to run in a browser. It builds on open-source projects: a decompilation of the original game and a PC port of it. The site does not include any of Nintendo's game data.
What you provide
To play, you load your own disc image of Animal Crossing. The usual way to get one is to dump a GameCube disc you own. The file stays in your browser and is never uploaded to us. We do not host, share, or link to the game.
Your responsibility
Rules about dumping and using a game you own vary by country. You are responsible for following the law where you live. If dumping a disc you own is not allowed in your country, do not use the site.
Not affiliated with Nintendo
This is a fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo. Animal Crossing and all related names and marks belong to Nintendo. This page is general information, not legal advice; for your own situation, ask a lawyer.
