Answers about the 2002 GameCube game, read out of the game's own code.
Pages
- Starting a town, and your first save The train, picking a house, every one of Nook's chores in order, and the exact thing that unlocks saving. It is earlier than you think.
- How your face is decided Rover's three questions index a table of eight faces. Here is the table, a photo of all eight, and the rule for what happens if you say nothing.
- House upgrades and mortgages Every payment in order, why the house only grows once a debt is cleared, and whether the first loan is 19,800 or 17,400.
- Golden tools All four and how to get each. The shovel grows on a tree, the axe comes from Farley, and two of the tools you have read about do not exist here.
- Multiplayer The GameCube game had no online play and no split screen. What it did have, and how visiting a friend works on this site.
How this is written
This site is a port of the GameCube game, built from a decompilation of it. That means the spawn tables, prices, schedules and lookup tables the game runs on are readable, so the answers here are quoted from the source rather than reconstructed from playthroughs.
Where our reading disagrees with what is commonly published, we say so and show our working. Where we are unsure, we say that too, rather than picking whichever number looks most familiar.
There are five pages here today. It is a small section on purpose, and it grows only where we have something to add that you cannot already find.
